Handling koi
Smaller koi are easily caught and handled using a hand net where the fish will comfortably be held within the confines of the net. Transfering to a bowl again is relatively straight forward where smaller fish are concerned
Larger fish are easier caught in a large net, then transfered from net to bowl or floating basket by coaxing the fish with a little help from an assistant to transfer itself from one to the other.
When moving any large Koi any distance we strongly recomend the use of a sock . These superb items of kit are fairly easy to use, and the better quality ones are very gentle on the fish.
Physically handling Koi should be kept to a minimum and is only really necessary when buying, treating and showing fish.
