We at COASTAL KOI consider product evaluation very important within our overall sales strategy, with a policy of only offering for sale items that we consider suitable for the purpose and to the best of our ability correctly described.
By carrying out our own in house evaluations on most products we sell and applying a high percentage quality control system of checking, we try to meet the needs of our customers.
When dealing with Top quality products by leading manufacturers : The names Aquamax Sequence Nexus Etc. spring to mind, the need for quality checks and evaluation is not quite so important. We tend to concentrate our in house evaluations on the lesser well known budget priced imported items.
INTRODUCTION Hailea Immersible / Inline
These Budget priced pumps are excellent pieces of kit when used correctly. They definately should not be compared with top flight Pond pumps the likes of Aquamax etc.
With a high quality aluminium ceramic shaft and bearings these pumps are designed for continuous use. Used correctly pumping non abrasive liquids they have an extremely low wear rate. The HX-88 series are all fitted with a pre-filter see below
They will of course handle soft non abrasive solids 2-3mm low percentage in suspension.

Please find below some results of recent evaluations.
We have carried out extensive trials under under fairly arduous conditions, and rate these pumps very good indeed.
Most items of a mechanical nature require a little maintenance from time to time, these water pumps are no exception.
 The frequency of any maintenance will to a great extent be dependent on the environment the pump is called on to work in.
Installed correctly apart from checking the internals for wear and clearing any debris round the impellor assembly very little maintenance is neccessary.
Installed incorrectly and the complete opposite could be the case.
All maintenance operations should be carried out by competent persons.
We have used them in many different applications. From circulating water, powering waterfalls, running a trickle tower, And even have a small 2000 ltr HX-6530 running a skimmer on a test tank (all be it with a very low head loss).
All Pumps of this design without exception will run all day and every day pumping water
With a bladed impellor and magnetic motor they offer good power and reliability.
But please note as with any water pump, start pumping sand and silt and you are as good as applying a grinder to the ceramic shaft and bearings, with obvious early failure.
Another good rule of thumb is:- If there is any posibility that large abrasive objects, string, bits of air line or similar can be sucked in either move the pump or use a pre-filter.
